Pelican Heights (sometimes referred to as Montecito) is nestled in the hills of Buck Gully Reserve, just off Pelican Hill Road near its intersection with Newport Coast Drive. The entrance road to Pelican Heights is Via Burrone off Pelican Hill Road north. 

Pelican Heights' neighbors include the prestigious Pelican Crest to the south, Pelican Ridge to the east (including Ocean Ridge and Civita), and Santa Lucia to the north.

Residents of Pelican Heights enjoy a tremendous location within easy driving distance of many coastal attractions and locations. For example, the Pacific Coast Highway is only 2 or 3 minutes' drive to the south, and beyond that is Crystal Cove State Park. This park is home to long pristine beaches and natural coastal wilderness to enjoy.

Corona del Mar Village is approximately 5 minutes, or 3 miles, up the highway, and Newport Centre is just a few minutes beyond that for upmarket shopping and entertainment. The University of California Irvine is only 10 minutes, or 4 miles, northwest of Pelican Heights.
