University Park Real Estate Information

University Park is a well-established community located in the southern portion of Irvine, California. It is one of the oldest planned developments in California, and the first in Irvine, with its beginning dating back to the 1960s. In fact, the early development of University Park predates the existence of Irvine as a city by some five years.

University Park was built according to "garden city" principles, making sure to include numerous green spaces and community areas. As such, many of the neighborhoods within University Park feature homes clustered around central pocket-parks, and tree-lined greenways extending behind the properties.

Homes For Sale In University Park

Homes for sale in University Park are perfect for those looking for a green, spacious setting, or those with a refined eye for California Modern architecture.

University Park was also designed to attract a wide range of demographics. As such, the community is known for its diverse real estate options, featuring a tremendous and accommodating blend of detached single-family homes, townhomes, condos, and apartments. All of these distinct and eclectic areas are linked together by a series of greenways, trails, parks, and quiet streets.

Typical architectural features include low-pitched roofs, including many shed-roof portions, clerestory windows, projecting support beams, and decorative yet muted textures.

Another interesting feature of this area is the prevalence of zero-lot-line construction, allowing residences to be built flush with their property lines. This allows for more efficient use of space and yards that are easier to use and landscape. Furthermore, the layout of University Park uses square, rather than round, cul de sacs, offering extra street parking and allowing for more living space on each of the plots.

With your own home in University Park, you'll have a sense of living in a bygone era, with family-friendly streets and spacious properties, and extensive parkways, all tucked away in an affordable enclave between Irvine and Newport Beach, with all the amenities and conveniences they entail.
