Cameo Shores History
Cameo Shores was first developed in the 1960s by the Irvine Company, sold as a series of leases on completely un-improved plots of land. This development was initially undertaken in conjunction with The Sunny Homes Corporation. The area was originally called Cameo Cliffs, but the name was changed soon after inception.
While many of the original homes still exist, being somewhat smaller and finished in typical mid-century ranch, revival, or modern styles, many newer homes have appeared in recent years. These newer homes tend to be larger, with some building down into the hill to provide lower-level access, and others even combining lots to produce a few of the areas famed "super" mansions.
