Following its December 2015 grand opening, we visited Marina Park in Newport Beach for a firsthand glimpse of the beautiful community and sailing center.
Aside from the stunning harbor-front location, we were delighted by an onsite eatery – The Lighthouse Café. After a delicious grilled albacore sandwich and refreshing iced tea, it was time to tour the 10.5-acre site.
The Marina Park website (through the city of Newport Beach) covers each of the park's facilities and attractions in great detail. The site lists the park's amenities as follows:
Marina Park Amenities:
- 10.5-acre park
- Nautical-themed playground
- Outdoor fitness circuit and basketball courts
- On-site café, catering, and picnic area
- 177 parking spaces
The complex also features a large community and sailing center, including a 23-slip marina, and a separate restroom building.
To cap it all off, the park is now home to a 6,100-square-foot Girl Scouts Leadership Center, which is being funded entirely by the Girl Scouts of Orange County.
Something for everyone in Newport Beach and Balboa Peninsula
Along with the stunning coastal setting and panoramic harbor views, this new facility truly offers something for everyone.
And if the park itself isn't enough, the Balboa Peninsula area has more than enough attractions, including:
- Newport Beach Municipal Beach
- Newport Beach Pier
- Numerous cafes and restaurants
