Fashion Island at Newport Center has been a favorite shopping and entertainment destination since we moved to Newport Beach.

Now, change is coming for me this New Year!

Fashion Island - Still The Best Shopping In Orange County

I have always loved my one-stop shopping corner at Fashion Island in Newport Beach - I run into my favorite eyewear store Aspen Optical, then quickly browse the new shipment of Lululemon a few doors down, while checking out the window display of Rebecca Taylor for their latest collection before heading to Neiman Marcus to pick up a few essentials.

And before leaving, I grab a quick bite at R & D.

So, What's New At Fashion Island This New Year?

No, I haven't found a new place to do my shopping in Newport Beach.

But now that the Lululemon has moved to a larger (huge more like it) location at a separate wing of Fashion Island, I have vowed to expand my horizon and try a few new places.

Who knows, I might even test drive a new Tesla or try the much-raved about Peloton. Definitely, La Pain Quotidien here I come!

Fashion Island - Great Family Activities in Newport Beach

My family loves living near Fashion Island in Newport Beach. It is a great place for us to bring our four grandchildren during the warm California winters.

Since moving here nearly three decades ago, we have enjoyed dining and shopping with our children in tow at this one-of-a-kind retail space.

Yesterday, we met our daughter and grandkids for a casual lunch at Wahoo's Fish Tacos in Atrium Court. The kids were enthralled by the 20-foot water feature in the courtyard so we could enjoy our meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

We managed to get in some shopping AND take the kids on a tour of the other water fountains.

Our favorite is without a doubt the koi fish pond. My own children loved looking at the dozens of koi fish when they were kids. It is a very relaxing, enjoyable environment, especially for those with little ones.

While our two oldest grandchildren, ages 5 and 3, were walking across the stepping stones at the koi pond, I did take pause and have to appreciate how lucky we were to have 73-degree temperatures and sunshine in early January.
